After the Dragon, we swung back around to do 165, better known as the Cherohala Skyway. It cuts through the Cherokee and Nantahala National Forests (thus the name). It starts at 2660 feet and ascends rapidly to run along at 5390 feet. We tried to get pictures of most of the elevation signs at the gaps as the elevation rose. It was a nice warm 87 degrees when we started riding with no leathers, but at Santeetlah Gap at the top I thought I was going to freeze my bum off. While the Dragon was challenging and scared Dee to death, the Skyway is just flat fun. You can really go.

Dee got crazy with the action photos taking shots over my shoulder as we rode. Some of them turned out really cool, capturing the twisties of Cherohala Skyway very well. Every single one of them show just how absolutely beautiful the Cherohala Skyway scenery is. The last few pics are during our ride home when we road toward Chattanooga along the Ocoee river. We tried to get a pic or two of all the people kyaking and rafting, but the pics don't do it justice.
